SEVEN WAYS TO START 2023 ON THE RIGHT FOOT

You’ve heard the saying, “new year, new me”. It’s the beginning of 2023 and resolutions have already been broken. How can one start 2023 filled with positivity? Here are seven ways to start the new year on the right foot:

1.      Forgive-Forgiveness is not for the other person, it is for you, so you can move on and continue to do great things.

 

2.      Create a gratitude jar-Each day, week, or month, write one thing you are thankful for and place it in the jar. Look through the jar regularly, but do not throw out anything until the end of the year so you can compare your thoughts over the year.

 

3.       Mind your business-Don’t let other’s situations occupy the space in your head. This is very important for self-care.

 

4.      Be kind to someone-You never know what someone is going through. You may be the reason someone realizes their worth.

 

5.      Dance-It’s an easy way to exercise and shed pounds, and it doesn’t require equipment nor skill. Sing with the music for good measure.

 

6.      Delete-Any hurtful messages or photos need to be deleted or thrown away immediately. No need to keep the negative energy around.

 

7.      Show affection-The pandemic prevented people from getting close to one another and showing affection. As people are now going back outside and dealing with so much, that affection is needed more than ever. Showing affection can take different forms such as a high five, fist bump, or the regular hug. If personal space is an issue air hugs and air high fives count. It’s the intention behind the action that’s important.
