Learn to stand in your purpose
Stand confidently in your walk
Stand boldly in your gifts
Stand unapologetically with your blessings
Every year the date for the TCFStyle Expo conflicted with my schedule, but this year I made it! August 2018 marked the fourth year for the TCFStyle Expo and it was everything that I expected it to be. The convention was a full figured dream (see what I did there lol). The weekend was filled with nuggets of fun and knowledge.
If you are a blogger and you missed the first day then you truly missed out on a whole lot. The Blogger Mastermind Day presented by Mediavine was a full day’s event that covered so much of the tools that you needed as a blogger and how you can make money from blogging. And of course that evening was everyone’s favorite; a time to let your hair down and unwind….. The Curvy Social Kickoff Party. A fun time was definitely had by all.
The next two days was not only shopping, shopping and a little more shopping with some of our favorite vendors, but there was so much more. The panel workshops were nothing short of amazing. I didn’t get to make them all but I have no doubt that the ones I missed were just as great as the ones I attended. A few of the panelists and speakers in attendance were Mickey Armstrong (The Male Body Image Project), Devorah Story (Freelance Model 101), Ashley Nell Tipton (My Journey to self acceptance), Toy Monique (Plus Size on the big and small screen), Maui Bigelow (How do we make all forms of Fat Acceptable) and Rick Jones (How to look good in pictures). Remember I said a few, because there were so many more so don’t y’all start emailing me saying “why you didn’t mention meeeee”.
Some of the vendors there were Bandelettes, TruDiva Designs, Virgo Nicole Collection, Shoeflyy Unlimited, Designs by Deangelo, Jay Jill Cosmetics, and Courtney Noelle. And that was just a handful; that venue was HUGE.
My favorite has definitely got to be the fashion shows; I absolutely love fashion shows. We got to see both male and female models hit the runway in a variety of designs from various vendors and from Marie’s closet.
It was a fabulous event and the hosts Chenese Lewis and Big Ray did a fantastic job.
Congrats to The TCFStyle Expo on a job well done.
And to The Curvy Fashionista, Happy 10 years Strong in the game!
If you weren’t there, here is a very small visual of what you missed.
See you all next year.
